THE HEART OF HOME AUTOMATION
As time progresses the human knowledge improves to automates the things around him.from the age of industrial revolution we moved from gear to circuits.EM waves become the medium for communication throughout our devices. initially, the computing devices were mechanical structure with the logical build. Enigma machine used for encrypted communication by Germany in world war II and today we are using cryptocurrency with the same rooted idea’s development. the automation around us has never emerged as a single string but it’s like a tree where each branch or leaf having the interconnected link of the same foundation.
Home automation is also about linking home appliances in a certain way to operate more efficiently. the module used as a central part for linking is a computational device.today in the market, there are many different options available as per the person requirement from the automation. Some big names can possibly ARDUINO, RASPBERRY PI, NETDUINO N3, PARTICAL PHOTON.each microcontroller have their own dynamics to work.
During the process of automation one first, need to understand the need and path for the search of devices.even in the home, there is a variety of load requirements. air conditioners and fans need a different set of modules of the automation process and the encrypted signal need also vary person to person.the microcontroller definitely the heart of the automation but at the device end how the signal should react depends on the sensors. even a specific sensor selection involved lots of dynamics.
suppose one needs to automate the water pump motor. the person wants the motor to start pumping the water when the tank is half empty and also wants to make sure that the motor only worked during the day hours between 7.00 am to 12.00 pm. As the water comes only on day hours and he doesn’t want to operate the motor without water because then it will decrease the motor life.
To automate this problem one required the microcontroller to process the solution(code) of this situation.for sensing the level of water one can use a depth sensor and communication between the controller and the sensor archived by Bluetooth or wifi network. this problem first phase deals with the sensor and the other phase with logic (programming) to make sure it runs only in the given time. the actual implementation also required the knowledge of motor drive and relay connection but it’s not more than that at least in this situation.
The home automation concept itself evolving with the new coming technology. Machine learning, artificial intelligence, the neural network changed the percentage of human involvement in the automation process. Amazon eco, google assistance becomes part of our life.in some delusional sense, people argue about the human in its way to become the slave of technology but the way it seems to us, it’s more about opening the new dimension of information and technology by letting the known one to the computer.
